At the very beginning of this program, our goal were children and youngsters, based on their motivation for Computing , but as new technologies became popular, the public for the program widen up in such a way that right now it includes not only students, but also workers, housewives, elder people, or those with some disability, unemployed, prisoners, foreign students. They all, no matter their religion, social position, occupation, race, look for our services and have access to our facilities with the benefits the program include.

An important feature of the Youth Clubs lies on the fact of adapting the services to the public and their needs, and getting closer to our clients.

A peculiarity of our work is the assistance to specific sectors within the Cuban society.

  • Children: Developing computing skills since early ages and contributing to the related contents the children receive within the Cuban teaching system are a working priority with this sector. This is a way to discover their interests of vocational formation related to the Information and Communication Technology we are in favor of and develop by means of programs specially designed for this purpose known as Skill Developing Clubs.
  • Disable people: In order to speed up the total incorporation of people with physical or intellectual disability to society or develop their skills in the teaching-learning process, they are specially assisted through upgrading and training programs that are adapted to their needs.
  • Elderly: The Geroclub is a project including adults older than 50 years into the Youth Clubs, where they develop several activities that contribute to increase their spiritual health and develop a successful aging. This project includes training programs adapted to the elder’s capacities and willingness and it aims at providing a space for union, exchange, association and contribution.

The accessibility and the role of our facilities in the community life make the Youth Clubs a vital program for the social and cultural development of Cuban society, which makes it the computer of the Cuban family.
